DESCRIPTION:Falconer Steve Hoddy will present his popular educational program for all ages. Experience the thrill of a hawk flying so close\, you can feel the wind off it’s wings. See one of the largest birds in the world\, the Andean Condor and the fastest bird on the earth\, the Peregrine Falcon.\nThis is a free event with free entry to the park. Plan to make a day of it and enjoy the beach afterwards. October is an excellent time to visit the park\, when the temps are milder and the water is still warm enough to swim.\nPets and food are not allowed in the presentation area. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs\, as seating is limited.

SUMMARY:Spring Nature Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The Quintana Beach County Park will be hosting bird watching opportunities in the park. Viewing of the fresh water pond area will be available from inside the Discovery Event Center. Of course\, birds can be viewed from anywhere in the park and on the beach during park day use hours. \nOn April 11\, we will host the very popular\, EarthQuest Birds of Prey Program where you will learn about and see free flying raptors. Being Easter weekend\, this is a great time to camp or stay in one of our cabins. \nBrazoria County is one of the first stops on the Central Migratory Flyway in North America. You will see birds not normally seen in the area; many very colorful. New and seasoned birders\, families and youth groups should take full advantage of all of these free events. \nThe Discovery Event Center will be open Tuesdays through Sundays for the entire month of April from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm each day.

DESCRIPTION:Join park interpreter\, Mike Mullenweg on a safari without leaving the beach. Explore the life in\, on and around the beach with nets\, shovels and whatever else we can find. We will be seining for ocean life and hunting ghost crabs. Great program for the whole family. This program is free and open to the public as well as guests camping in the park.
