The Middle Bayou Trail is a two-mile trail along an abandoned railway line. The elevated flat trail starts at the Bastrop Bayou Public Fishing Area and offers views across the rare bluestem coastal prairie. It can also be accessed at marked points along Hoskins Mound Rd/CR 227. The trail is part of the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. It’s also great for biking. Don’t veer from marked trails and bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellant.
