The San Bernard Oak Trail is currently closed due to the condition of the boardwalk.

Experience a wonderful interpretive hike to the largest live oak in Texas. The San Bernard Oak Trail is a combination mowed path and elevated boardwalk that snakes through peaceful forested wetlands surrounded by majestic mature live oaks and pecans. Get access in person or by phone at the refuge field office. 1.5-miles round trip. Don’t veer from marked trails and bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellant.
