Dow Woods Unit Trail Day

The Dow Woods Unit has two great trails along Bastrop Bayou. There will be a variety of nature programs that may include reptiles, butterflies, scavenger hunts and birds of prey.
The Dow Woods Bayou Loop is a gravel 1 ½ mile trail along an upper reach of Bastrop Bayou. The Dow Woods Tveten Trail meanders through the riparian zone and emerges amongst mature live oaks in the floodplain. The trail is nearly one-mile long and is paved.
Don’t veer from marked trails and bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellant. The Dow Woods Unit is located about one mile north of the intersection of FM 2004 and CR 288 (Old Angleton Road) on CR 288 (Old Angleton Road) in Lake Jackson.
