Tour the plantation house to discover Christmas in the 1800s. Relax outside and enjoy the beverage of the season, wassail, and Christmas cookies. There will also be food, entertainment, children's activities, and a special visit from Santa! Santa's Market will be open for all the shoppers who attend.
Join the Varner-Hogg Plantation State Historic Site staff and enjoy learning about the history of the drink wassail. Wassail is traditionally made from cider and spices and is served during the Christmas season. You can even try a sample during your visit.
Learn about different types of herbal teas and remedies used by the enslaved people on the Patton Plantation. You can even try some of the teas for yourself!
