Surfside Beach is an affordable Texas getaway for the whole family. There are 27 miles of sandy beaches in the Brazosport Area perfect for sunbathing, shelling, camping, fishing, and relaxing under the Texas sun.

Area Beaches

Surfside Beach, Texas
If you would rather be on the beach then Surfside Beach is your destination. Miles of golden sand teamed with interesting seashells and marine life make this a perfect retreat for recreational sports, sun worshipers and nature lovers alike. The Surfside Jetties, extending one mile into the Texas Gulf, offers anglers trophy redfish, speckled trout or just about any game fish. Beach house rentals, motels, offshore fishing charters, restaurants and souvenir shops are ideal for beach goers. Stahlman Park is available for family reunions and private parties. All vehicles driving on Surfside Beach must purchase a $12 annual pass and display in their windshield. The pedestrian beach is free of charge. www.surfsidetx.org

Bryan Beach, Texas
Bryan Beach is regularly maintained by the city of Freeport for all families to enjoy. Perfect for sunbathing, camping, birding, fishing and relaxing. The beach is still in its natural state so if you need anything stop in Freeport before you go over the intracoastal. Beach goers can drive and park on the beach for no charge. www.freeport.tx.us

Quintana Beach, Texas
Need a little serenity? Then, Quintana Beach is for you. This sandy beach is perfect island getaway. A bird sanctuary, popular fishing pier, historic cemetery and a 50-acre county park are all located on this tiny island. The county park has full hookup RV sites, restrooms and showers, cabins, campsites, boardwalks to the beach, hiking trails and much more. www.quintana-tx.org

  • Search for Shells like the Olive Shell, Horse Conch, Lightning Whelk, Scallop, Murex Or Angel Wings.
  • Relax
Some Rules To Remember
  • There are no lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk.
  • Glass containers are NOT allowed on the beaches.
  • All dunes are protected and off-limits to pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Don't mess with Texas, no littering.
  • All-terrain vehicles are NOT permitted.
  • No overnight camping on Surfside Beach or Quintana Beach.
  • Horses are NOT allowed on the pedestrian beach in Quintana.
  • Surfside Beach does NOT allow horses from May 15 through September 15 but they are allowed from November 1 through March 31. Horses are allowed on Surfside Beach weekdays from April 1 through May 14 and from September 16 through October 31.
  • Fireworks are NOT permitted at Bryan Beach, Quintana Beach or Surfside Beach.
  • Overnight camping, horses, and fireworks are permitted on the unincorporated county part of the beach between Surfside Beach and San Luis Pass.
  • Rules are subject to change so please check with beach officials for a complete set of rules.
