A Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier

In honor of Women’s History Month, Jill Bailer with Bayou Bend will present “A Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier.” Bailer will take a look at early Texas from the reminiscences of Ann Raney Coleman who came to Texas with her family in the 1830s.
From the early preparations for the Texas struggle for independence, to the Runaway Scrape, and on to the Federal attack on the Texas Gulf Coast in the Civil War, Anne Raney Coleman shared her firsthand account in a journal with her niece before she passed in 1897.
